Background

The Premier League engages ID Inquiries Ltd to act on its behalf and to assist in the identification of licensed premises illegally showing live FA Premier League football matches, whether during the “closed period” (each Saturday between 14.45 and 17.15) or without the appropriate commercial subscription. Only the Premier League’s authorised licensees in the UK (BSkyB and BT) can broadcast live Premier League matches in commercial premises such as Pubs, Clubs and Hotels in the UK. This means that commercial premises that use unauthorised foreign satellite cards and/or websites to show live coverage of Premier League matches are infringing the Premier League’s copyright.

As such, our aim is to identify licensed premises acting illegally in this way and collect the appropriate information to ensure future compliance. If you know that a business is showing Premier League matches via a foreign satellite system or through an unauthorised website, or if someone has tried to sell you a foreign satellite system, you can report this directly to ID Inquiries Ltd using the contact details below.
